What can we say about Maricela and Juan’s Choctaw Lodge Wedding aside from the fact that they might be the most genuine couple we have ever had the opportunity to work with. Their love for each other is so pure and transparent. The fact that we were at one of the most beautiful venues we’ve ever had the opportunity to work at was just the icing on the cake.
One of Maricela’s relatives hand-made the cake from scratch and decorated it herself. We’ve worked dozens upon dozens of weddings and the cake she made was one of the best we had ever tasted and was presented perfectly; we loved it (and so did the guests!). The food was also prepared by family and consisted of traditional Puerto Rican dishes.
The venue , the Choctaw Lodge, sits on the bank of the Choctawhatchee River right off of highway 20 in Bruce, Florida (just about a 30 minute drive from Panama City Beach, Florida). This was the perfect venue for such a magical evening and there was plenty of space for all of the guests. The venue has 2 guest houses that each hold 6 individuals that can be rented out together or separately. The grounds are covered in beautiful Edison bulbs and warm LEDs to give the evening a whimsical/magical feeling, no matter the occasion. They also have a handful of vendors they work with to help ensure every wedding and private event is a success.
PCF Parties & Promotions provided the audio, lighting, music, and emceeing throughout the evening. William, the owner, did a phenomenal job working with the crowd to keep the energy balanced and the focus on Maricela & Juan.
After the event was over we ended up staying for a few minutes to snag some photos of Maricela and Juan under the tree lights. It wasn’t long though before the resident poodle (the owners dog) decided to get in on the fun and ended up photobombing Maricela.
Fun Fact: The wedding needed to be postponed because of Hurricane Sally which ended up flooding the riverbank, and ultimately the grounds of the retreat. After the water receded they were able to clean up the grounds just in time for Maricela & Juan’s wedding!
